This section deals with the production of eggs and honey, it keeps the records of all the honey producers (actually a census is being carried out). Every year a certain number of honey samples are taken in order to be tested at the National Veterinary Laboratory for the residues.
Regarding the eggs, this section is carrying out inspections at farm level where the eggs are produced and is evaluating the compliance with the European Hygiene Package regulations of the egg packing centres with the scope to approve them. The inspections are also carried out in order to guarantee the correct handling of the eggs and to check and evaluate the standard of the eggs before being put on the shelves of the shops as per relative legislation.
